Health Sciences Education Librarian Fox Receives Award for Excellence

Lynne Fox, Education Librarian at the Anschutz Medical Campus Health Sciences Library, was the honored recipient of the Bernice M. Hetzner Award for Excellence in Academic Health Sciences Librarianship at the 2010 annual meeting of the  MidContinental (sic) Chapter of the Medical Library Association.  The Hetzner Award is one of the Chapter’s highest honors, and is awarded in recognition of an exceptional career of accomplishment and service.  Ms. Fox works in the Library’s Education Department, teaching classes in informatics and evidence based practice.   An accomplished librarian, author, editor and instructor, Ms. Fox is also currently serving on Thornton’s City Council.  According to Lisa Traditi, Head of Education at the HS Library, “The Hetzner award recognizes an academic health sciences librarian who “has achieved a high level of professional accomplishment.”  Lynne has not only achieved professional accomplishment, but exhibits leadership and excellence. She sets a terrific example of participation and engagement in all her endeavors. With her sense of humor, extensive knowledge of medical librarianship, strong grasp of technology, and willingness to lead and participate in committees,  Lynne truly embodies excellence and leadership.”   Library Director Jerry Perry added, “Lynne’s selfless professionalism, dedication and commitment to learning have earned her widespread respect and admiration, and along the way many, many friends who recognize an individual on a life’s mission of service.  We’re proud of Lynne and thankful for all that she does to enhance and encourage us all.”
