Sylvia Rojas is an acupuncturist practicing in the Denver Metro area specializing in women’s health, internal medicine, acute and chronic pain.  She has been studying holistic medicine for the past fourteen years. Her informal education has included experiences in a number of different cultures and environments around the world. Her formal training is in Ethnobotany from the University of Hawaii and she has also earned a master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from the Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder Colorado. Sylvia has taught at the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver and Metropolitan State College of Denver, and has lectured extensively throughout Denver.

Jie Casey
Senior Student
Metropolitan State College of Denver

Jie Casey is a senior pre-medical student in the Integrative Therapeutic Practices Program at Metropolitan State College of Denver.  His 4.0 GPA has earned him a place on the President’s Honor Roll and helped him win two Academic Achievement Awards.  In addition, he was recently recognized as a 2010 Kaiser Permanente Diversity Scholar.  Jie’s contributions to the community include volunteer work at the Children’s Museum of Denver, participation in the Heart to Heart Special Needs program in China, and involvement in the Emmaus Medical Missions in Peru.  He hopes to matriculate as a University of Colorado Denver medical student in the Fall of 2011.

Linda B. White, M.D.
Assistant Professor
Metropolitan State College of Denver

Linda B. White, M.D. is an assistant professor in the Integrative Therapeutic Practices Program at Metropolitan State College of Denver.  For the past twenty years, she has lectured and written on the subject of natural health.  She is the coauthor of Kids, Herbs, and Health and The Herbal Drugstore, a regular contributor to Mother Earth News, Herbs for Health, and Herb Companion.  Her articles have also appeared in Mothering, Runners’ World, Natural Home, and Natural Pharmacy. She has appeared on CNN, Good Morning, America, and local radio and television news shows. Dr. White received her B.S. and M.S. in biology at Stanford University, her M.D. at the University of California, San Diego, and her postdoctoral training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
