Opening Reception for Art in Science exhibit
An Opening Reception for the Art in Science | Science in Art exhibit will be held on Tuesday, June 28 from 3:00-6:00 pm. The reception will be in the Gallery and Reading Room on the 3rd floor of the Health Sciences Library.
Art in Science | Science in Art is a juried exhibition of images made by University of Colorado-affiliated scientists and artists. Scientist were asked to submit images they had made as part of their everyday work. Additionally artists whose images illustrate or offer insights into scientific principles were also asked to take part. Of the hundreds of images submitted, thirty were selected by a national jury to be printed in large format, framed, and hung in a traveling show. Opening in 2007 at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, the exhibit has traveled all over Colorado and hung in museums in Mexico and New York City.
Art in Science | Science in Art is curated by Helen Macfarlane, MA and J. John Cohen, MD, PhD, of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, with financial support from the CU President’s Fund for the Humanities. The exhibit will be on display through the end of August.
